Daniel Francis Noel O'Donnell was born in Kincasslagh (County Donegal, Ireland) in 1961 and is a singer, television presenter and philanthropist. He began his musical journey by singing in a local choir and went on to join his sister Margo’s band. He began his solo in 1983 with the release of his debut single, My Donegal Shore. It was self produced and Daniel sold all the copies himself. His musical style can be best described as a blend of country and Irish folk. He honed his craft for more than a decade and by the mid 1990s, he had become a household name with regular sold out shows in Ireland and Great Britain. He’s had a stellar career with 50 albums, 21 singles, and in 2012, he became the first artist to have a different album in the British charts every year for 25 years straight. With his gentle, soft spoken personality, charismatic and engaging stage presence, he’s developed a close relationship with his fans and has a meet and greet session with them after almost every concert. He’s received many accolades including 5 RTE Awards (for Favourite Country Artist of the Year), 3 IRMA Awards (for Entertainer of the Year), and many more.
